Why Healthcare? I like applying science to problems seeing the result. Both of my parents are physicians they were not encouraging but I really got drawn to this scientific thinking.

Hot Topic that should healthcare leaders agenda:  Infectious disease problems

How have you created results by doing things differently? I’ve done work better streamline guideline, how to incorporate certain types of new drugs into a national level.

What suggestions you would give to providers/listeners on emergency preparedness? I think you have to make it a part of your routine/business practice just the same way you have other aspects of your business. You need to have emergency planning, even if you’re just primary care provider or a big hospital system.

Setbacks that you learned from: When you talk to people to prepare about the infections, they kind of get lost because it’s not part of daily thinking.

Proudest leadership moments: During the Ebola outrage when there was a panic and I spent so much time speaking and writing about it not going over to the United States. I get a lot of recognition from my peers and from the general public about how calm I was. It was the impact I made during one of the biggest crises we face.

Exciting Project: Journal article, general audience presentation and planning to write a book
